A servey by property portal (Propertyfinder.co.uk) showed that the average cost of moving house in the UK has more than trippled over the last ten years, to nearly £9,500 excluding mortgage lenders' and surveyors' fees. The average new homeowner can expect to spend between £12,000 and £17,000 in the first year alone. All of this money could be utilised to pay for the cost of your extension.
